Storybook Pumpkins
Several students created storybook pumpkins this week. They chose their favorite book character and decorated a pumpkin to look like their character. Look at these great pumpkins!

Plant Characteristics
Today we looked at the amazing characteristics of plants that let them stand during a strong wind. Then we applied this knowledge to engineer umbrellas that can also stand in the wind.

Needs of a Plant
Today we used an augmented reality app called Chromeville Science. We used it to practice the needs of a plant and to watch a plant we colored grow before our eyes as its needs were met.

Butterfly Engineering Challenge
Today we created models of a pupa with an adult butterfly inside. We worked on creating adhesives that would allow them to stick to a branch through the whole pupa stage so the adult butterflies will develop correctly.

Butterfly Chrysalis
We began our butterfly chrysalis engineering challenge today by exploring adhesives. Tomorrow we will create our chrysalis and hang it from a branch. Our chrysalis needs to be able to withstand "wind" and "rain" and stay on the branch.

DAVID'S LAW PRESENTATION
GCISD is proud to invite parents to the "Cyberbullying and David's Law" presentation
given by David's Legacy Foundation. Maurine Molak, David's Mother, will be presenting.
This event will be held on Tuesday, October 23 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Colleyville
Heritage High School Auditorium. Parents will learn facts of David's Law (SB179) and wha
t it means for them and their children. Parents will also learn what to do if their children
