Help!!!!
Second grade will be engineering instruments in a week and a half.  We really need help with some of the supplies.  If you have any empty tissue boxes, empty paper towel rolls, empty toilet paper rolls, and any paper cylinders (oatmeal container).  We thank you in advance for your help.  Your student may come home for this project and ask for some additional supplies for their specific instrument.  We can't wait to show off the instruments on STEM night in November.

Second Batch of Play Dough

Today we created our 2nd batch of play dough. We analyzed our 1st batches carefully and really improved with our second batches.

First mixture

Today we followed our process to make our first batch of play dough.

Properties of mixtures

We mixed two of our materials to look at the properties of them combined. 

Properties of Matter

Today we looked at the properties of the materials we will us in our play dough process.  We used microscopes and ProScopes digital microscopes to see the properties up close.  

Quality Tests

Today we tested high and low quality play dough and came up with texture and usage test to use on the play dough we will build.

Kona Ice

Kona Ice came today for our three states of matter project and surprised us with snow cones.
