Grapevine Community Services

We had a great field trip today to the Grapevine REC and library.  We had a lot of fun learning about the services our community provides.

Hi Friends,

I want to make sure my students have the materials they need to succeed, so I just created a DonorsChoose.org classroom request.

Zoo Animal Outreach Vistor

In return, you'll get awesome photos of your gift in action and our heartfelt thanks.

Thank you so much,
Second Grade

P.S. If you know anyone who may want to help my students, please pass this along!

Book of the Month

Book of the Month Challenge

Special Programs Expo

From engineering challenges to advanced academics to language immersion and early childhood education, GCISD offers a world of opportunities for students. Families are invited to learn more about these opportunities at the Special Programs Expo on Tuesday, February 13 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Cross Timbers Middle School. The expo will feature stations showcasing our STEM programs, ASPIRE Academy and Dual Language programs. Also, at the Expo, families may also learn about the tuition-based Pre-Kindergarten program, iUniversity Prep and Collegiate Academy. In addition to program stations, presentations focusing on the instructional components and benefits of these programs will also be delivered.

The applications for dual language, STEM academies and tuition-based pre-kindergarten will be available online beginning Friday, Feb. 14 and are due by Friday, March 10. If more applications are submitted than the maximum number of students each campus may accept, then a lottery will be conducted on Friday, March 31, and streamed live on the district's website. More information will be available on the website after the Expo.

Day and Night Challenge

Yesterday we studied what causes day and night. Today they were given the challenge of creating a working model of day and night. They used a flashlight as the sun and they used LittleBits to create the rotating earth model. They all made a working model.
