RECESS REVAMP
Saturday, Sep. 23rd, 8-11am
1300 West College Street
Grapevine, TX
We apologize that this event had to be rescheduled and we hope that our Cannon parents will be available on this rescheduled date, 9/23, to come help out!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Due to construction this year, our playground is not available for recess for our Cubs and all recess is being done in front of the school. We have already added several new games & some new equipment for the students to use during this time, but we want to paint some permanent games (hopscotch, game boards, etc...) on the concrete out front, to add even more fun recess options!
If you would like to help paint some of these games, we are doing a Recess Revamp on Saturday, September 23rd, from 8:00-11:00 am. We will provide the materials needed, so just plan to come help & paint! We are requesting that adults only attend this event, due to the materials that will be used and for safety reasons.
Thanks in advance for your help!
International Dot Day Is Friday!!
Dot Day is Friday, September 15th. For those of you who aren't familiar with this, it's a global celebration of creativity and making a positive impact on the world based on the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. Cannon will be participating in Dot Day in several ways.
Mandy Coburn, our school counselor, will introduce the idea of making a positive mark on the world in her guidance lessons with students next week. She will talk about what it means to make a mark on the world and different ways people can do that. During these guidance lessons, students will be recording a message to answer the question: How are you making a positive mark on the world or how will you make a positive mark on the world in the future?
Also, our students will be doing a variety of Dot Day themed activities in their classrooms, as well creating art pieces in their classrooms to make Dot Day themed designs. Our Dot Day theme at Cannon this year is "Making a Positive Mark on the World"!
During our Friday assembly this week, members of the Cannon KC Club will share The Dotbook with the entire school, as part of our Dot Day celebration!
WEAR DOTS TO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th!!
