Cannon Elementary: A GCISD STEM School
Cordially Invites You to Attend

Friday, November 18th, 8:00-10:00 am

Grandparents and other older people are very special in children’s lives – so we are planning a special a day just for you! Grandparents & Grandfriends Day recognizes the importance of our heritage, our community, and relationships across generations. On this special day, we invite you to come to our school, find out what students are learning, and celebrate with us!

A special request: Students often wonder what school was like when you were young. We would like to ask grandparents to come to this event prepared to answer a question about their school years.  As a STEM school, we have a lot of technology that our students use at school.  Many of the toys that our students play with outside of school also involve technology!

Our question for you is also about technology. What type of technology do you remember being used in your school?  Did any of your toys involve technology? If not, what kind of toys did you play with?

During visits in classrooms, teachers will invite grandparents and grandfriends who wish to speak to do so. We’d love to hear your memories and stories about this question!

If you can attend our Grandparents & Grandfriends Day, please complete the attached RSVP form by Tuesday, November 14th . You can also RSVP online here:

The school’s address, directions, and parking information are provided on the back of this sheet. We look forward to seeing you and we thank you for joining us! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school office at 817-251-5680.

Please wear red, white, and blue for the Veteran's Assembly on Friday!!!!
