WeDo Robotics

Today we went to the Media Lab and worked with Mrs. Goins and the WeDo Robotics. Students worked with their buddy to build an animal from Legos. The animals had a motor and we used the laptops to program movement and sound for our robots. 

Animal adaptation stations

Today we worked in a number of stations to learn about some animal adaptations.  We learned about camouflage, visual adaptations, claw adaptations, feather adaptations, and finger adaptations.

Reading challenges

Reading book challenges (logs) are due to your child's teacher by this Friday, May 15th.  Read! Read! Read!

Hand Pollinators

We worked in the "Imagine" phase of our latest engineering challenge today.  We explored and recorded the properties of the materials we have available to build our pollinators.

Last week for our STEM unit on hand pollination we worked on creating movies about integrated pest management and agricultural engineers.  We filmed in front of a green screen and then added the apple pictures.  The kids had a lot of fun performing the plays.  I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them.
