Water bottles!

We ask that you please send your child to school with a water bottle.  With the temperature being very hot, we want the children to stay hydrated!  Thank you!!

Saving Fred Engineering Challenge

For the challenge they had to move a gummy worm from the top of a cup and get a mint from under the cup.  Then they had to put the worm through the worm.  They had th accomplish this without using their hands.  We then brainstormed team work rules as a class.

Teamwork Challenge

Today we had our first engineering design challenge.  They were given wooden skis and told they would have to cross a grass area using the skis without letting their feet touch the ground.  We learned today that group communication is essential to being successful in the engineering design process.

Summer Reading Logs

Independence Day- Effective Monday, August 31st, we will declare Independence Day at Cannon!  This means that parents or other guests will no longer be allowed to escort their children to class after this date.  They will be expected to drop off their children in the car line out front or walk them to the front entrances, but not go through the security doors.

Curriculum Night

Please mark your calendar to attend Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 3rd from 5:15-6:15pm.  We will be sharing with you very important information about 2nd grade!

We are so excited to meet all of our new students tonight.  Meet the teacher will be from 6:00-7:00p.m.  We would love if you could bring all of your school supplies with you tonight.
