Summer Enrichment Brochure Art Contest

Summer Enrichment Brochure Art Contest

GCISD students of all ages are invited to create artwork illustrating the fun learning opportunities available through GCISD’s Summer Enrichment Program. This year’s theme is “Rockin' Through the Summer.” The winning artwork will serve as the cover design for the GCISD Summer Enrichment brochure, which will be posted on the website and provides information about registration and summer learning opportunities for students completing K-6th grades. Winning artwork will also be used to promote the Summer Enrichment Program through social media. The student who creates the winning entry will be recognized in the brochure and during a regular meeting of the GCISD Board of Trustees.
Art must be original and can be hand-drawn, painted, computer-designed or in any other medium. Judges will be looking for a design that is creative, appropriate and uses the “Rockin' Through the Summer” theme. Art should be on 8 ½” x 11” paper and submitted in color, but be able to be reproduced in black and white. Student's full name, school, grade and teacher's name should be on the BACK of the artwork. Please do not frame or mat entry to any size larger than 8 ½” x 11”. Our contest opened January 9, 2017, and the deadline for submitting the art is Friday, February 10th. Students should submit entries to their campus art teacher. Art teachers can submit any entries to Cindy Pearson at Colleyville Elementary.

GCISD Love Your Device Contest

GCISD's Technology Services is hosting a Love Your Device contest!

The idea is to capture the spirit and creativity of our students to promote better care of the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD student devices. We want to create a sense of student pride in our one-to-one initiative and encourage our students to exercise self/peer governance. The Technology Services Department will be accepting a wide range of presentations, posters or other public service projects through February 7. The link below has information about district expectations for device care that students may use as a resource.

Student winners, announced on February 14, will receive a variety of prizes as well as campus and district recognition. Teachers who actively participate will be eligible for a voucher good for class and/or duty coverage of their choice. Your campus technician has more information along with a poster that includes a QR code linked to our district website which includes all of the details.

Hi Friends,

I want to make sure my students have the materials they need to succeed, so I just created a DonorsChoose.org classroom request.

Day and Night Challenge

Yesterday we studied what causes day and night. Today they were given the challenge of creating a working model of day and night. They used a flashlight as the sun and they used LittleBits to create the rotating earth model. They all made a working model.
