Ice Cream Engineering

We had a great first nine weeks of school. To celebrate we are going to have an ice cream party.  But there is one catch, we will have to engineer our ice cream.  Our first day of the project we learned how we would be using the field of chemical engineering to help use through our project.  For the last two days we have tested ice cream.  We used a rubric to see what made an ice cream high or low quality.  We were looking at texture, taste, and its ability to hold a scoop.  On Tuesday we experienced Blue Bunny and Dryers. We decided both of those where high quality.  Today we analyzed a homemade version.  It was low quality.  The kids were all really brave and tried it out.  They decided it was not creamy, it had no taste, and we could not scoop it.
